October assessment learner response

MARK :17/25      GRADE:5

WWW -    This is a great start to Media and demonstrates you have learned a lot in the first half-                          term! You pick out conventions and the effects on audiences particularly well.

EBI      -    Revise key terminology (e.g. Q1 - denote!) Also, medium close-up is acceptable for Q8                        but you then describe a medium shot. Make sure you get this right.

            -     For Q9 (8 mark) you need at least two extended paragraphs to reach the top level. Use                           specific examples from media products.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q1: 0/1 I used my connotation skills instead of deonation.
Q2:1/1
Q3:2/2
Q4:1/2 I need to use media key terminology.
Q5:2/2
Q6:3/3
Q7:2/2
Q8:2/4 I forgot to describe a medium shot.
Q9:4/8 I need to have used two extended paragraphs .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MEDIA TERMINOLOGY I GOT WRONG:

DENOTE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRONGER QUESTIONS:

Q2,3,5,6,7

I did better on these question because they only needed simple answers.

WEAKER QUESTIONS:

Q1,4,8,9

In question 1, I didn't read the question properly . When it said to denote , I accidentally connoted instead.
In question 4, I forgot to involve Media terminology.
In question 8 , 9 I didn't as well as the others because they needed to be answered in full depth(detail) which I lack in doing.

Q9 REDRAFT

The producer of advertisements use pictures of children when advertising because they know that the consumer will feel sympathetic towards the children causing the audience to support that charity.Another reason is to make them feel guilty. In the Water-Aid picture , using the denotation of a child, this will cause people using their connotation skills to figure out that the charity helps children in need and that the consumer should be doing the same thing.Charities use children instead of adults because children are more vulnerable and young so they can't make their own money compared to adults who could work to get money to help themselves/family.
